The Jagannathan, Taliaferro, and Mukherjee labs decided to go to the Stanley Beer Hall to celebrate a bunch of birthdays, students joining the lab, and other stuff that we did not celebrate in a timely fashion! Our labs interact a lot - not only due to our close proximity and shared spaces, but also because we have shared lab meetings.
I like to joke that students basically have a committee meeting each time they present at lab meeting with 3 faculty and a number of experienced postdocs present. I was informed this could be construed as intimidating - but this is why I thought it was funny :) Nevertheless it is a super valuable experience for everyone (including PIs) and we pride ourselves on providing constructive criticism!
